Charlene is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian with 17 years experience. She has specialised in the dietary management of IBD, IBS, food intolerances, gastrointestinal diseases and bariatric surgery over this time. Having helped thousands of patients with medical nutrition therapy she has commenced a PhD to help find the answers for diet with inflammatory bowel disease.
She is an invited guest speaker at GP, surgeon, nursing and Dietitian professional development training programs for the role of FODMAPs in managing gastrointestinal symptoms, diet and IBD and the role of nutrition in weight loss surgery.Charlene has been instrumental in the setup of the Bariatric Dietitians Working Group (WA) and the Dietitian’s Associations National Bariatric Interest Group to help ensure patients receive excellent nutrition care.
Charlene is Spokesperson for the Dietitians Association where she has been interviewed on TV, radio, newspaper and magazine. Her favourite topic is on gut health and she is a keen maker of sourdough spelt breads.
Charlene is passionate about the role dietitians have to play in managing health and has established Specialised Nutrition Care to provide leading dietetic support in these complex areas of health.
